Pregnancy massage cannot be given during the first trimester of pregnancy.

Head, Hands & Feet Massage
Head, Hands & Feet is a relaxing treatment taking in the head, face, neck, shoulders, upper back and pressure points in the hands and feet. It is based on an ancient therapeutic treatment practiced for thousands of years, originally to improve wellbeing through out the body.
The massage promotes deep relaxation and therefore may relieve stress and help you sleep better. It also stimulates the flow of blood, lymph and oxygen in your body and can also help to relieve tension headaches.
Sports & Remedial Massage
Sports massage is a deep tissue massage that helps the mobilisation and stretching of muscles to their full length and potential. It is used in the prevention of an injury as well as speeding up recovery on new, recurring and old injuries.
Remedial massage provides a remedy to muscular dysfunction. It separates adhesion and scar tissue and helps realign damaged muscle fibres, with the aim of restoring balance within the body.
Both of these treatments are good for anyone, from the athlete to someone that wants to improve their active lifestyle or just want a deep tissue massage. They use a variety of techniques, such as Soft Tissue Release (STR) Neuromuscular Technique (NMT) and Muscle Energy Technique (MET) and Friction.
It is not uncommon for either of these massage treatments to be a little uncomfortable, sometimes known as ‘good pain’.
At Massage Weymouth we work to your limits as no two people are the same.

Acupuncture / Dry Needling
Acupuncture is a treatment derived from ancient Chinese medicine. Fine needles are inserted at certain sites in the body for therapeutic or preventative purposes.
How acupuncture works
It involves stimulating sensory nerves under the skin and in the muscles of the body.
This results in the body producing natural substances, such as pain-relieving endorphins.
A course of acupuncture is recommended or to be used along side a course of massage treatments, as this usually creates longer lasting pain relief than just a single treatment.
Traditional acupuncture is based on the belief that an energy, or “life force”, flows through the body in channels called meridians. This life force is known as Qi (pronounced “chee”).
Practitioners who adhere to traditional beliefs about acupuncture believe that when Qi doesn’t flow freely through the body, this can cause blockages within the body resulting in illness and muscle strain. So acupuncture can restore the flow of Qi, and so restore health and relieve pain and restriction within the body.

Pre or Post event Sports Taping
Sports taping with Kinesiology tape is a definitive rehabilitative taping technique that is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process while providing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body’s range of motion. This will be offered within your treatment when and where necessary, to prolong the benefits of manual therapy administered within your treatment.
This can also be used pre and post event outside of your normal treatment time at an additional cost of £10 for 15min taping treatment.
Cupping
Cupping therapy works by putting special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. This procedure helps lift the myofascia layer causing a myofascial release, improving blood flow to that certain area. This has many purposes, including to help with pain, tightness in the muscle area, inflammation, and as a type or aid of deep-tissue massage.
Cupping therapy might be trendy now, but it’s not new. It dates back to Egyptian times recording it as far back as 1550 B.C.

Many of these conditions cause ongoing discomfort that may be alleviated with simple treatment and/or advice. Following the advice of a registered Podiatrist/Chiropodist and partaking in a routine of individually tailored treatments and a daily footcare regime, is simple and in most cases is all that is needed.
We offer a service that can cover all of this and more. Our Podiatrist will look at the whole picture and be able to help you with the gait analysis/biomechanics issues of the lower limbs and proper foot wear advice, with possible products to help you get the results you want quicker.
For a great many people basic hygiene and nail cutting is all they need to keep their feet healthy, but when normal feet turn into problem feet its best to seek the professional help of a Registered Podiatrist/Chiropodist.
MLD / Lymphatic Drainage
Lymphatic drainage is a therapeutic massage treatment. The massage uses very light pressure and long, gentle, rhythmic strokes to increase the flow of lymph and reduce toxins in your body.
The lymph system is part of your body’s immune system and helps fight infection. It transports nutrients and oxygen to cells, collecting toxins on the way and flushing them out through the lymph nodes. You have around twice as many lymph vessels as blood vessels in your body. However, unlike blood, which is pumped around by your heart, the lymph system has no pump. The pressure from your blood vessels and movement from your muscles push the lymphatic fluid around.
What is MLD / lymphatic drainage massage good for?
Lymphatic drainage massage can have a beneficial effect on everyones general health, Specially if you are suffering from the following:
- Pre & Post Op Surgery
- Lymphedema
- M.E
- Chronic Fatigue
- Fibromyalgia
- Long Covid
- Arthritis
- General Inflammation
Our Treatment / Techniques can also be done over clothing if preferred.
Lymphatic drainage can:
- Reduce the chance of you suffering from minor colds and viruses; it helps your body fight off infection, and speeds up healing and recovery from illness and or operations.
- Help reduce water retention; for instance, because the lymph system has no pump, if you sit for a long time without moving, the lymph can’t flow easily — this is why you may experience swollen feet or fingers
- Boost weight loss, as improving the lymphatic system will improve your metabolic rate, which helps you burn calories more efficiently.
Lymphatic drainage massage can also improve your skin texture by:
- Reducing swelling, puffiness and blotches
- Giving you clean, healthy pores
- Speeding up healing in scar tissue, so it may, for example, improve the appearance of stretch marks
- Helping to reduce cellulite; the treatment increases blood flow and circulation to the affected areas, which helps the body break down the toxins which cause dimply skin
Swedish Massage
Also called “Traditional” Massage, this is primarily a relaxation massage using long gentle strokes, which anyone can benefit from, but can incorporate firmer techniques to break down muscle knots or specific remedial techniques on any problem areas that come to light, should you so wish.It helps relax both body and mind, giving you a sense of wellbeing. It can relieve the general aches and pains caused from everyday life, leaving you completely relaxed & refreshed.
Can be requested for specific body areas, or all-over body treatments.
Reflexology
Do you suffer from the following:
- IBS/constipation
- Depression
- MS/Chronic Fatigue/Fibromyalgia
- Irregular periods or menstrual issues
- Back, Neck, Sciatica or pelvic pain
- Hormone Imbalances/PMS/post pregnancy issues
- Poor sleep/Stress related tension
Reflexology could help you. This is a relaxing treatment that is given by applying varying types of pressure to the feet/lower legs or hands. These areas are said to correspond to organs/parts of the body within the same zone/meridian. Reflexology helps you to completely de-stress, calming the mind and generating deep relaxation, allowing healing energy to flow fluently around the body again. This aids healing to the whole person and not just the presenting symptoms.
Reflexology doesn’t diagnose/treat precise ailments by definition, though it can over time relieve symptoms or ease pain & discomfort that have manifested within the body.
Aromatherapy Massage
Boosts wellbeing, relieves stress and refreshes body and mind.
Tailored to your specific needs, aromatherapy has many therapeutic benefits and is believed to have healing properties.
Strengthens your entire body and supports your own healing process, whilst encouraging a healthy immune system to help fight infection.
Hot Stone Massage
Smooth water-heated stones are used over the entire body, with traditional Swedish or deep tissue massage, to melt away tension, ease muscle stiffness and increase circulation and metabolism. Deeper muscle relaxation is achieved due to the muscle relaxing under the heat, allowing access to the deeper layers.
